Stone Turtle Brings an Upscale Gastropub and Whiskey Bar to Dogtown

Dogtown has a new casual neighborhood dining destination. Stone Turtle – named for the nearby Turtle Park – debuted on Dec. 22, serving dinner, drinks and Sunday brunch.

“We’re an American gastropub and whiskey bar serving kind of upscale takes on classic American fare,” co-owner Nick Funke says.

Funke co-owns the concept with Maz Nooran, Adam Tanksley and chef Todd Bale. The group’s collective experience spans several positions within the restaurant industry: Nooran previously owned Momos Greek Restaurant and Flaco’s Cocina, while Bale cooked at Legends Country Club. Funke recently returned to St. Louis after spending eight years in New York, where he managed Italian restaurants, wine bars and more.
